Hugo Lopez, founder of LATIN DANCE PRO PUERTO VALLARTA, has been teaching, performing, competing and choreographing Latin Dances in Canada, USA and Mexico. He has been trained by world class dancers and coaches such as Katya Virshilas, Barbara Ferchuck and Alfonso Caldera.
His authentic dance style was influenced by what is often referred to as L.A. Style Salsa and Latin Ballroom techniques. These exciting and sensual styles of dance are composed of flashy moves, multiple spins and showy footwork that make heads turn. Hugos approach to teaching stresses the social aspects of Latin Dance and emphasizes leading and following techniques over choreography, which produces a smooth look and feel to partner dancing.
In his classes, Hugo teaches everything from the basic dance step to complex patterns and partnering techniques. Hugo has won high praise for his teaching method as his simplifies complicated Latin Dance patterns into easy to learn movements. This results in making his students learning experience a greatly enjoyable one.
